A hero’s welcome

When 24-year-old Olympic boxer Luke Campbell came out victorious, huge preparations had to be made for his big return home.

In order to keep the event safe and enjoyable for all, support staff were sourced and prepared for the homecoming ceremony in Hull’s Queen Victoria Square. Working closely with this events team, Hull City Council and Humberside Police, Force-7 ensured a smooth delivery to 13,000 incredibly excited members of the public, with thousands of gold balloons distributed to add to the effect.

With local and regional media swarming the area and the Hull Daily Mail providing live updates to thousands more at home and work, every effort was made to give Luke Campbell what he deserved, which was clearly achieved when he told the world that “This is why I love my city”.
